We represent employees that experience a wide range of
unlawful practices at work.
Discrimination
We represent clients that have had some negative action taken against them at work (such as a demotion, schedule change, or termination) because of a protected characteristic (such as age, race, gender, disability, marital status, or veteran status). Click here for more information about when a negative or "adverse" employment action is considered illegal discrimination.
Disability Rights &
Accommodation
We represents clients with a wide range of disabilities that have been denied a reasonable accommodation. Click here for more information about the "interactive process" and "reasonable accommodation."
Incorrect Pay For Hours Worked
We represent clients that are forced to work off the clock (for example, performing "opening tasks" before clocking in or "closing tasks" after clocking out), or denied proper overtime wages.
Wrongful Termination
We represent clients that have been terminated from their employment for an illegal reason, such as for a discriminatory or retaliatory reason.
Retaliation
We represents clients that have had some negative action taken against them at work (such as a demotion, schedule change, or termination) because they engaged in a protected activity (such as complaining of an unsafe work condition or seeking an accommodation for a disability). Click here for more information about when a negative or "adverse" employment action is considered illegal retaliation.
Sick Leave, PTO, and Leaves of Absences
We represent clients that experience unlawful sick leave, PTO, or other leave of absences policies (such as leave for maternity/paternity, jury duty, voting, military service, etc.) Often these clients are either not provided their leave or PTO correctly, or experience retaliation for trying to take a leave or use PTO.
Hostile Work Environment
We represent clients that have experienced pervasive or severe harassment by a co-worker or supervisor because a protected characteristic (such as their age, race, religion, or disability).
Meal & Rest Break Violations
We represent clients that are not provided meal and/or rest breaks and not paid legally required premium pay in lieu of the same. Click here for more information about when you are entitled to premium pay because your employer failed to provide compliant meal and/or rest breaks.
Reimbursement For Business Expenses
We represent clients that are not reimbursed for business expenses, such as expenses associated with working from home (internet, computer, phone expenses), costs of uniforms, or travel expenses.
Consultations are free and you pay nothing upfront to retain The Lyman Firm.
