The Lyman Firm  |  Practice Areas

     The
LYMANFirm

We represent employees that experience a wide range of
unlawful practices at work.

Discrimination

We represent clients that have had some negative action taken against them at work (such as a demotion, schedule change, or termination) because of a protected characteristic (such as age, race, gender, disability,  marital status, or veteran status).

Disability Rights &

Accommodation

We represent employees with a wide range of disabilities who have been denied reasonable accommodations at work. This includes cases involving both physical and mental health conditions, where employers fail to engage in the interactive process, refuse to modify job duties, or take adverse action instead of providing support..

Incorrect Pay For Hours Worked

We represent clients that are forced to work off the clock (for example, performing "opening tasks" before clocking in or "closing tasks" after clocking out), or denied proper overtime wages.

Wrongful Termination

We represent clients that have been terminated from their employment for an illegal reason, such as for a discriminatory or retaliatory reason.

Retaliation

We represents clients that have had some negative action taken against them at work (such as a demotion, schedule change, or termination) because they engaged in a protected activity (such as complaining of an unsafe work condition or seeking an accommodation for a disability).

Sick Leave, PTO, and Leaves of Absences

We represent clients that experience unlawful sick leave, PTO, or other leave of absences policies (such as leave for maternity/paternity, jury duty, voting, military service, etc.)  Often these clients are either not provided their leave or PTO correctly, or experience retaliation for trying to take a leave or use PTO.

Harassment & Hostile Work Environment

We represent clients that have experienced pervasive or severe harassment by a co-worker or supervisor because a protected characteristic (such as their sex, gender, age, race, religion, or disability).

Meal & Rest Break Violations

We represent employees who are denied meal and rest breaks or not paid the legally required premium pay when those breaks are missed.

Reimbursement For Business Expenses

We represent clients that are not reimbursed for business expenses, such as expenses associated with working from home (internet, computer, phone expenses), costs of uniforms, or travel expenses.
